Luciano Lozano

Luciano Lozano is an award-winning author and illustrator. Most recently, he illustrated BOYS DANCE!, a lively and encouraging picture book celebrating boys who love to dance, authored by John Robert Allman in partnership with the American Ballet Theatre. Huffington Post raved: "BOYS DANCE! gives boys who love ballet a chance to feel seen." Luciano also recently illustrated THE SUN SHINES EVERYWHERE, a celebration of all the different people and cultures under the sun, written by bestselling author Mary Ann Hoberman. And in 2020 he illustrated MAYHEM AT THE MUSEUM—a picture book in which paintings and sculptures come to life when a young girl visits the Metropolitan Museum of Art with her classmates. Luciano is also the illustrator of trans writer Kyle Lukoff's MAX AND FRIENDS series—a sweet and age-appropriate introduction to what it means to be transgender, which School Library Journal points to as "an excellent choice as an early reader series with an LCBTQIA+ theme. Worthy for classrooms, libraries, and PFLAG and other support organizations’ collections." In 2017 Luciano saw the publication of his first author/illustrator work, BEA BAILA. To date, BEA BAILA has been translated into Russian, French, English, Turkish, and Italian. Luciano lives in Barcelona, Spain.
