Frann Preston-Gannon

Frann Preston-Gannon is an internationally acclaimed illustrator and designer. Her first picture book, THE JOURNEY HOME, was shortlisted for both the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and the Cambridgeshire Read it Again! Book Prize. Soon after, Frann was the first UK recipient of the Sendak Fellowship and spent a month living with and learning from the great master of illustration, Maurice Sendak. In 2018, Frann completed a two-year long project, SING A SONG OF SEASONS. It is a lavishly illustrated collection of 366 nature poems—one for every day of the year. It was named Waterstone's 'Gift of the Year' and was shortlisted for the British Book Awards. Frann's most recent book, written by Elizabeth Shreeve, OUT OF THE BLUE: HOW ANIMALS EVOLVED FROM PREHISTORIC SEAS, received a star from Kirkus. It is an ambitious and graceful tracing of the evolution of life on Earth out of the blue and back again. Frann lives in London, England.
