Erin Kraan is a children’s book illustrator, woodcutter, and printmaker renowned for her humorous, textured, and whimsical character designs. Working inside her cozy Vancouver studio, at her custom-built workbench, she combines linocuts, woodcuts, and acrylic gouache to create a charming blend of tactile details and playful emotion.
Career highlights for Erin include collaborating with Jory John on the Bear and Hare series, beginning with Something’s Wrong; with Kristen Tracy on the I Am series; and with author Bess Kalb on Buffalo Fluffalo, winner of the Good Housekeeping Kids' Book Award, which hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and launched the Buffalo Stories series.
Cozy socks, sweet candies, chickadees, and the color green top Erin’s list of favorite things. When she’s not working, she likes to spend time on a watery coastline with family, friends, and her dog, Mister.
